Cherry Pickers

Our cherry trees carry more than we can eat, and as I still had several jars with canned cherries from last season, I didn't care about canning this year. The birds are happy, though! Honestly, they empty the trees within ten minuts when they discover the berries!

Twisted

Inspiration for designs and details on layouts can be found lots of places. One of my fav places is Paper Issues (PI) which not only is a store, but also have a creative design team which whip up monthly fun challenges on PI's FB-page. One of them is "Pawsitively Pets" and the september twist was to use, on your page "something new to you, and something you have hoarded".

Paper pieces & frames: Simple Stories. Wood veeners: Jillibean Soup (?). Alpha: AC. Enamel dots: MME. Buttons & cut out love heart: unknown

 Details

I often mix manufactores and it works out just fine!

I had, new to me, a package of photo frames and paper pieces (to be used on pocked pages) and desided it was time to dig into them. I am a button hoarder - I love buttons, and the wood cats are hoarded, too. Time to let them go!

Do you hoard scrap stuff, too?

Rock Hard!

Feel free to interpret the title as you want to:
  • Is it me telling my mum to (still) rock hard?
  • Is it her beeing rock hard (no, she's really a sweetie, but she's quite tough, too)?
  • Or is it just the feeling you get when you hug a cairn?
Your choice :-)

Papers & cut outs: Pink Fresh. Alpha: American Crafts. Sequin covered hearts & enamel hearts: Freckled Fawn. Brads: MME

Since I don't do any DT work atm, just scrap for my own amusement and to preserve memories, I suck inspiration wherever I find it. The idea for this spesific design came from a lifting challenge at Paper Issues (where I also bought the papers):

I have a hard time using large heart shapes, I replaced the large hearts in the layout with pieces of paper. I still you still can see the main design in my lift. Agree?

Garden Gnome Model

We spent last weekend hiking in the Norwegian mountains. It was one of those wonderful fall weekends when the days start out with chilly mornings, just below the freezing point,  and end up with sun and temperatures at least 15 degrees higher. Mix it up with some wind and there are hours you take mittens and bonnets on - off - on - off - just because it's either too hot - or too cold.

I took some snapshots of my oldest son one of those hours - he really could not decide if to keep the bonnet on or not. With the bonnet half way off he reminded me of a garden gnome...

Thank you for taking time to stop by! Do you have a garden gnome, btw?

From this - to that

Last wekend was spent hiking in the Norwgian mountains: me, the kids, my husband and my mum.

Two years ago my mum had an accident and smashed her ancle really bad. Ten surgeries (!) later she is like a goat even in harsh terrain. I'm so happy for her! Did I mention she's 72, btw?

The design is taken from the October 1th Sketch at Stuck!?

I find sketches a great starting point when creating, especially like now when I have been "out of business" for a while.

Do you like sketches?
